Discover Flic en Flac
A charming coastal village on the west coast of Mauritius, known for its pristine beaches, legendary sunsets and warm island spirit.
The Village
Flic en Flac sits on the west coast of Mauritius, in the Black River district — a laid-back coastal village whose name traces back to the old Dutch 'Fried Landt Flaak'. Today it's a place where locals and visitors share the same beaches, markets and sunsets.
Aanari Hotel & Spa is at the heart of it all, on Royal Road in Pasadena Village — steps from the beach and surrounded by everything the village has to offer.

The Beach
Just across the road from Aanari lies one of the finest beaches in Mauritius — a sweeping stretch of white sand that runs for over 8 kilometres along the coast, fringed with casuarina trees and lapped by a calm turquoise lagoon.
A coral reef shelters the shore, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The shallow waters are perfect for families, while further out you'll find vibrant marine life just beneath the surface. Bring water shoes for the rocky patches near the reef.
Legendary Sunsets
The west coast of Mauritius is famous across the island for its sunsets — and Flic en Flac has front-row seats. Every evening, the sky turns gold, amber and violet as the sun drops below the horizon. Watch from the beach, from the hotel terrace, or with your feet in the sand at one of the beachside restaurants.
Pasadena Village
Just minutes from the hotel, Pasadena Village is the area's main shopping hub. You'll find Jumbo Express supermarket, Spar, a pharmacy, boutiques, restaurants and everyday essentials — everything you need within easy walking distance.
Activities & Excursions
From the ocean to the mountains, Mauritius offers adventures for every kind of traveller.
Dolphin Watching
Head to nearby Tamarin Bay for an early-morning boat trip to swim alongside spinner and bottlenose dolphins in the open ocean — one of Mauritius' most unforgettable experiences.
Catamaran Cruise

Casela Nature Park
Just 15 minutes away, this wildlife and adventure park is home to big cats, giant tortoises, zip-lining, canyoning and quad biking — perfect for families and thrill-seekers alike.
Black River Gorges
Mauritius' largest national park covers over 6,500 hectares of native forest, with more than 50 kilometres of hiking trails. Keep an eye out for the rare Mauritian pink pigeon and the Mauritius kestrel.
Chamarel & 7 Cascades
Visit the famous Seven Coloured Earths geological formation, the Chamarel Waterfall plunging 100 metres into the gorge, and the dramatic 7 Cascades (Tamarind Falls) — a series of waterfalls and natural swimming pools.

Beyond the Village
Le Morne Brabant
A UNESCO World Heritage Site just 30 minutes south, this dramatic basalt mountain rises 556 metres from the peninsula. Hike to the summit for panoramic views, or visit the beach below — consistently ranked among the world's best.
Cascavelle Shopping Village
A 10-minute drive brings you to Cascavelle, a modern open-air shopping centre with international brands, a cinema, restaurants and a supermarket — the largest retail destination on the west coast.
